Finnish P&P Salaried Employee Strike Ends with New Collective Agreement
The Finnish Forest Industries Federation reports that it has accepted the Finnish National Conciliator's settlement proposal to create a collective labor agreement for salaried paper industry employees. The solution includes a 1.5% general increase and a 1% item, which is subject to company-specific negotiations. The new collective agreement is valid for the period of May 19, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
As part of the accepted conciliation proposal, the parties will also commence a functionality assessment of company-specific pay systems with the aim of developing them further. Industrial action at companies has ceased as a result of this agreement and all striking salaried employees returned to work May 19.
