U.S. Containerboard Output Rises
U.S. Containerboard production rose 4.6% compared with June 2011, and the month-over-month average daily production was up 1.2%, according to the American Forest & Paper Association (Washington, D.C., USA) July 2011 U. S. Containerboard Statistics Report released this week. The containerboard operating rate for July 2011 was down slightly, 0.6 point over July 2010 to 98.1%, but it gained 1.2 points over June's operating rate.
Additional key findings from the report include:
- Linerboard production posted a gain over last year
- Corrugating medium also showed an increase over June 2011.
