"This is a positive change for The Newark Group," said Frank Papa, president and CEO. "As electronic media becomes more popular, it has affected the paperboard hard cover book binding and other related markets. Even though the binding market is still very active, we found additional uses for our specialized laminating and paperboard converting equipment. This was the impetus for the name change. It better reflects the direction of the division and the company as a whole."
Jim Carbine, SVP of Newark Custom Paperboard, added that "we consider people, talent, and innovation to be our best strengths. This powerful combination allows us to work with customers to develop custom paperboard products for their businesses. The name change is a reflection of the innovative world we are thriving in."
