The bleach plant rebuild is one part of a larger rebuild project at the mill. Valmet's delivery includes the design, supply, and erection of the main and auxiliary equipment. The main machinery in the delivery consists of two TwinRoll wash presses. After completion of the project, the mill will be producing 105,000 metric tons of high quality TCF dissolving pulp per year.
Caima Mill's fiber line produces 350 metric air dried tons of bleached hardwood sulfite pulp per day from eucalyptus. Currently, the mill is already producing a low alpha dissolving pulp that is delivered to the Chinese market.
Caima celebrated its 125th year of operation in 2013. The company belongs to Altri group, a Portuguese producer of bleached eucalyptus pulps. Altri's three mills—Celbi, Caima, and Celtejo—produce more than 950,000 metric tpy.
