Sappi Fine Paper Europe, Brussels, Belgium, has appointed Wayne Nablo as sales manager, Specialty Products, North America, to strengthen the company's specialties sales network.
Nablo is returning to Sappi after 10 years working with paper companies in the U.S., including Fraser Papers, Wedlock Paper Converters, and Gorham Paper and Tissue. This knowledge will be essential in his new role to develop a very important strategic market for Sappi, the company notes. He will be responsible for all Alfeld Mill specialty paper sales into Canada and the U.S.
Nablo originally joined the company in 1986 and progressed through various sales management roles in printing, release, and technical papers, culminating in his final role as sales director - America's for release papers from the Sappi Westbrook Mill. The appointment follows the EUR 61 million rebuild of PM 2 at Sappi's Alfeld Mill in Germany. This will increase specialty packaging paper production by 135,000 metric tpy and eventually 100% of Alfeld's mill production will be specialty papers.
"The investment in Alfeld Mill has enhanced specialty paper production and will enable Sappi to bring to market many more innovative grades designed to address ever-evolving market demands and trends. I am looking forward to presenting these new and enhanced ranges and helping customers to further expand the services they can offer to end users," Nablo said.
Nablo will report to Richard Moyle, U.K. and overseas sales manager, Sappi Alfeld GmbH. "Wayne is a welcome addition to the team and brings more than 25 years of experience in specialty markets to our expanding business." Moyle said.
