KapStone Starts up New PMT Press Section at North Charleston Linerboard Mill

KapStone Paper and Packaging Corp., in North Charleston, S.C., USA, has successfully started up a PMT Italia (Italy) ÆGO™FLX SHOE press. PMT Italia recently replaced the mill’s PM 3 press section with the unit. The new press section was part of an upgrade to improve the capability and efficiency of PM 3 while producing Ultra High Performance (UPL) lightweight linerboard grades.

The installation and startup of the new PM 3 press proceeded as scheduled, with the machine immediately producing first-quality production. This is the third recent shoe press project for PMT in North America.
