Papierfabrik Scheufelen, Lenningen, Germany, reports that the declining consumption of graphic paper is forcing it to reduce production capacity from 300,000 metric tpy to 140,000 metric tpy. As a result, one paper machine and its associated equipment will be idled in the near future, the company notes.

Scheufelen’s strategy is to increase the share of premium and high end papers and extend the leading market position of coated premium papers globally.
