According to a new report published by Transparency Market Research, Albany, N.Y., USA, the global pressure sensitive adhesives market was valued at $5.58 billion in 2012 and is expected to reach $7.96 billion by 2019, growing 5.2% over the forecast period from 2013 to 2019.

 

Adhesive tapes accounted for 43.7% of the global volume in 2012. Labels are expected to be the fastest growing end-use application segment, growing 5.1% over the forecast period from 2013 to 2019.

The market is expected to witness robust growth in Asia Pacific due to the growing demand for pressure sensitive adhesives from electronics and automotive industries in this region. North America was the second largest market for pressure sensitive adhesives with a market share of 26.4% in terms of volume demand. Europe and Rest of the World together accounted for a quarter of the global market volume in 2012.
