Stora Enso Adds Four New Members to Group Leadership Team
Stora Enso, Finland, has added four new members to its Group Leadership Team (GLT), effective the first of this month. Kati ter Horst (photo), currently head of sales for Printing and Reading, has been appointed EVP, head of the Printing and Reading Division. Jari Suominen will continue to lead the Building and Living business, but now as EVP of a separate division. Stora Enso is dividing the current Printing and Living Division into two separate divisions in line with the existing segment reporting: Printing and Reading, and Building and Living.
To further strengthen the focus on communication and responsibility, the current Global Identity function will be split into two entities: Global Communications and Global Responsibility. Ulrika Lilja, currently head of communications for the Printing and Living Division, has been appointed EVP, Global Communications. Terhi Koipijärvi will take on the role of acting EVP, Global Responsibility, and will be an acting member of the GLT.
"I am delighted to be appointing the first new members of the Group Leadership Team. During the past two years, I have worked with each of them and found them to be extremely competent and team-spirited managers. The fact that all of the new GLT members are internal candidates brings continuity and consistency to the changes," said Stora Enso CEO Karl-Henrik Sundström.
Lauri Peltola, EVP, Global Identity, will in due course seek new challenges outside of Stora Enso. For now, he will continue to work as country senior executive for Finland and public affairs advisor to the CEO. "Lauri has played an important role in the development of Stora Enso's communications and branding, and has strongly contributed to the implementation of several strategic initiatives. As he will in due course move on, I wish him all the best in his future career," said Sundström.
