Mondi, Arctic Paper, UPM Release New High-Speed Ink-Jet Paper Lines
Mondi, Wien, Austria, has introduced NEUJET®, its newest paper product designed for use in high-speed inkjet applications. "The NEUJET portfolio is Mondi’s next generation of high-speed inkjet papers optimized for medium to heavy color, direct mail, graphic arts, and book printing applications," said Johannes Klumpp, marketing and sales director.
The NEUJET portfolio enables printers to fully utilize the benefits of high-speed inkjet printing, including individualization at a higher productivity than laser printing, making it possible to create new print applications previously reserved for offset printing.
"The NEUJET portfolio is offered in two quality levels, standard, and premium, and two surface finishes, matte and silk, closing the gap to coated offset printing. So printers can benefit from excellent print quality, color brilliance, and gloss," concludes Klumpp.
The week before Mondi launched NEUJET, Arctic Paper (Sweden) introduced its complete Highway Range, a new innovative and flexible range of quality papers designed for today’s fastest and most efficient inkjet printers. Amber Highway is suited for the growing transactional printing market.
Arctic Paper has developed a flexible paper range for such uses as personalized transactional printing to more sophisticated brochures and better books. All of the paper grades in the Highway Range are custom-made for high-speed inkjet printing, while still retaining the touch and feel of traditional paper grades.
"As a leading producer of fine paper in Europe, we are keen to offer a flexible range of paper grades that meets both current and emerging market needs and we see great potential for the new range," said Marc Bogaert, the managing director of Arctic Paper’s sales office serving the Benelux region of Europe.
UPM (Finland) also launched a new, comprehensive paper range for digital printing, the company recently announced. Covering the widest possible range of digital end-user applications, UPM Digi papers come in a variety of tailored categories designed to fit a specific purpose and press. Enabling users to take full advantage of the possibilities of digital printing, UPM Digi papers are available in both wood-free uncoated (WFU) and wood-free coated (WFC) options, and in a wide spectrum of basis weights ranging from 80 to 350 gsm.
"As part of the new UPM Digi paper family, we introduce UPM Digi Fine jet − a new quality designed for high-speed inkjet printing. UPM Digi Fine jet offers fast ink absorption, low bleeding, high smoothness, and outstanding water-fastness. It is especially suitable for advertising materials, inserts, supplements, statements, and other official documents," said product manager Ansgar Reiners.
UPM converts UPM Digi papers to suit virtually any finishing requirement. The service includes optimization of format, reel width, sheet size and packaging type.
