Corrugated Container Corp. Wins Silver ADDY from American Advertising Federation
Packaging and Display manufacturer Corrugated Container Corporation (Roanoke, Va., USA) received a Silver ADDY at the AAF National Advertising Awards presented this summer at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nev., according to a recent report by The Roanoke Times (Roanoke, Va.). This award is for the company's Powhatan Arrow Rail Car Holiday Giveaway, which had previously won a Gold award at the local level and a Silver award at the national district level. Corrugated Container Corp. (CCC) was the only box manufacturer to receive a national award.
The Powhatan Arrow Rail Car display is a detailed corrugated board model of passenger train cars pulled by the classic Norfolk & Western Class "J" steam locomotives. It is part of a series that includes a reproduction of the recently refurbished 611 Class J Locomotive and soon to be released observation car. The Powhatan Arrow Rail Car showcases CCC’s capabilities, as well as the company's pride in being part of the rich history of Roanoke’s manufacturing community.
The American Advertising Awards are considered the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising. They aim to represent the true creative spirit of advertising by recognizing all forms of advertising, from all types of media, created by all sizes and types of entrants, from anywhere in the country. Only 1% of all entries win at the national level of competition. Starting with 33,762 at the local level, 6,094 moved on to the district level, with only 1,159 making it to the national level for the final judging.
"Our goal at CCC is to provide industry-leading creative, design and manufacturing capabilities to our customers. This award proves that we are able to compete, and excel, on a national level." said Chad Tyson, CCC Roanoke's GM.
The company has been involved in the corrugated industry for over 50 years, and employs over 200 people throughout four east coast locations in Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. CCC designs and manufactures retail packaging, point of purchase displays, and shipping containers for customers throughout the country.
More information about CCC, including a gallery of award winning corrugated art pieces by the company, is available online.
