Holmen Makes Group Management Changes

Group management at Holmen, Stockholm, Sweden, is in the middle of a regrouping process after the company’s technology director Staffan Jonsson passed away after a period of illness. Ola Schultz-Eklund will succeed Staffan Jonsson as technology director and Fredrik Nordqvist will become CEO of the Holmen Energi business area.

Ola Schultz-Eklund will be taking over the role of technology director. He is currently director of business development and innovation and was previously managing director at the mill in Workington. The technology director is a member of Group management, reporting directly to the Group president.

Fredrik Nordqvist will become CEO of the Holmen Energi business area. Fredrik’s current position is head of wind power at Holmen Energi, and he will remain in that role. The CEO of Holmen Energi will from now on report to the EVP and is not part of Group management.

Schultz-Eklund and Nordqvist will be taking up their new posts immediately.

"With his knowledge and experience, Staffan Jonsson was a fantastic asset and a highly valued colleague. During his many years at Iggesund Mill, his efforts were invaluable in the work on cementing the mill’s position as a world-class forest industry facility, most recently manifested in the investment in a new recovery boiler in 2012," said Henrik Sjölund, Group president and CEO of Holmen.

Following the changes the Group management of Holmen consists of the following people:
Holmen is a forest industry company that manufactures paperboard, printing paper, and sawn timber, and runs forestry and energy production operations. In 2014 Holmen’s net sales were SEK 16 billion. The company has approximately 3,400 employees.
