Georgia Tech Announces Professional Master's Degree in Manufacturing Leadership
Georgia Tech’s (Atlanta, Ga., USA) Professional Education in partnership with The College of Engineering and Renewable Bioproducts Institute (RBI), this week announced the new professional master’s degree in manufacturing leadership (PMML), the first of its kind in Georgia. The program is geared to science or engineering graduates, with at least one year’s work experience in manufacturing. The degree is intended to prepare professionals to assume positions of business and technical leadership on a manufacturing site or at the corporate level.
The program is almost exclusively online so students may keep their jobs while enrolled:

•Hybrid Content—The design is contained in four quadrants
1.Management & Business—The relevant parts of an MBA (capital assets, profit and cost drivers, etc.)
2.Manufacturing Excellence—How to optimize operations (supply chain management, reliable maintenance systems, six-sigma, lean manufacturing, etc., and the underlying principles and tools)
3.Leadership—Exploration of one’s personal assets and style; how to move an organization to excellence
4.Industry-Specific Concentration—Forest bioproducts or chemical manufacturing
•Hybrid Career Development—Designed for the working professional who continues to contribute in a mill environment while taking courses.
