Solenis Opens New Shared Service Center in India

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held this week, November 2, to celebrate the opening of the new Solenis Shared Service Center in India. Located in Hyderabad, India, the Shared Service Center will initially have about 20 employees with space to accommodate up to 82 full-time employees.

"India is now the fastest growing pulp and papermaking country in the world with 10.5 million metric tons of paper and board production annually and represents a significant growth opportunity for Solenis," said John Panichella, president and CEO. "By adding much-needed jobs and establishing roots in Hyderabad, Solenis is making a major statement about our focus in India that will benefit Solenis’ business worldwide."

While the Solenis (Wilmington, Del. USA) name might be new to some, the company, acquired last year by a fund managed by private investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R), has a rich history and diverse portfolio that has already established its position as a forerunner in its industry.

The company dates back some 100 years to include legacy companies such as Betz Laboratories, Drew, Stockhausen, Hercules, and Ashland Water Technologies. Today, Solenis is one of just three industrial water treatment companies with a truly global footprint.

"Solenis is proud to expand its rich heritage of specialty chemical companies to India," said Nandkumar Dhekne,VP of Asia Pacific. "We are delighted to continue to build strong business relationships with our customers in India, as well as other Asia Pacific countries."

Stephen Cronin, VP of finance and administration, added that "Hyderabad is a city with both a long history and modern economic view, reflecting the spirit of Solenis—a newly named company, with decades of experience. We believe that our new accounts payable, business analysis, and other functional employees will enjoy the Solenis Hyderabad office and provide great support to our business globally."

The new office is located at Level 4, Unit 4 (L4-04), SLN Terminus, adjacent to Lumbini SLN Springs and Botanical Gardens, Gachibowli, Kondapur Road, Hyderabad, 500032, India.
