Klabin to Start New Puma Pulp Mill Next March
Klabin’s new 1.5 million metric tpy Puma pulp mill in Brazil will start up in March 2016. The mill is expected to produce 900,000 metric tpy next year, with two-thirds being BEK (bleached eucalyptus kraft) pulp and one-third being BSK (bleached softwood kraft) pulp, possibly including some fluff depending on tests with fluff buyers.
Klabin CEO, Fábio Fabio Schvartsman, stated on a call with analysts October 27 that the mill is 90% ready and first blow tests into the line have begun at the mill in Ortigueira, Paraná state, southern Brazil.
