Menasha Adds New Equipment in Canada

Menasha, Neenah, Wis., USA, has added new equipment to its Canadian operations to maximize production efficiencies, increase capacity, and support its integrated merchandising solutions across North America. The new equipment includes a large-format flatbed die cutter and litho labeler/laminator, both which are used for packaging and merchandising orders.

"This capital investment enables Menasha to further align our capabilities throughout North America, which allows us to maintain our position as an industry leader," said Brian Pascavis, Menasha’s regional GM for Canada. "The improved efficiencies and extra capacity also help us continue meeting the expectations of our large consumer packaged goods customers now and into the future, while accommodating additional growth from current and new customers."

The Brausse-Eterna PE2100S Automatic Flatbed die cutter is equipped with a Centreline make-ready system and a side chase loader, allowing for faster set-ups for shorter runs. The 2,100 mm by 1,300 mm (82.6 in. by 51 in.) die cutter is rated with 500 tons of cutting pressure and has a top speed of 4,500 cycles per hour.

The Automatan 8166 Litho Label Laminator is a large format, high-speed labeler/laminator that can handle the largest litho label at 4,500 sheets per hour and registration of plus or minus one  millimeter. In addition to full and spot labeling capabilities, this machine is equipped with a sheet-to-sheet, single-face module.

In addition, Menasha has also relocated a custom gluing machine to Canada from one of its U.S. facilities.
