Huhtamaki Expands Molded Fiber Packaging Plant in Russia

 
Huhtamaki (Finland) announced this past week that it will seek to strengthen its position as a leading egg packaging provider in Russia by investing at its manufacturing unit in Ivanteevka. The total investment of approximately EUR 8 million consists of additional manufacturing capacity, warehouse extension, and infrastructure improvement. The new capacity will be operational in May.

With the expansion, Ivanteevka unit is able to meet the needs of the rapidly growing egg market in Russia and develop more added value products to support customers’ growth.

With this new, state-of-the-art machinery we invest in the future growth, and in serving our customers better," said Petr Domin, interim EVP, Molded Fiber.

In Ivanteevka, Russia, Huhtamaki has two manufacturing units: a molded fiber packaging manufacturing unit and a foodservice packaging unit. The molded fiber unit in Ivanteevka employs approximately 100 people and has been manufacturing molded fiber packaging such as egg cartons, cup carriers, and egg trays for more than 10 years. Huhtamaki has approximately 570 employees in Russia.
