G-P Donates $8,000 to Flint RiverQuarium
According to a report this past Saturday (April 23) by The Herald, Albany, N.Y., USA, the Flint RiverQuarium in downtown Albany recently got a financial boost from local industry.
Georgia-Pacific's (G-P), Atlanta, Ga., Cedar Springs Containerboard and Albany Packaging facilities teamed up with the G-P Foundation to provide an $8,000 contribution to the RiverQuarium. The funding will support the RiverQuarium’s river habitat learning exhibits and environmental education programs.

Aquarium CEO Emily Jean McAfee said her organization was appreciative of the contribution. "The G-P support through the years has enhanced our ability to offer quality environmental education programs," she said.
Peggy Jaye, Cedar Springs public affairs manager, said G-P recognizes the importance of the RiverQuarium.
"Our company recognizes and values the work of the Flint RiverQuarium in sharing its environmental mission throughout Southwest Georgia and surrounding communities," Jaye said.
The downtown Albany aquarium promotes conservation through aquatic exhibits and engaging educational experiences and interpretations of the unique ecosystems of the Flint River watershed.
