TAPPI Industry Career Center: JSI seeks Winder Specialist

 
Winder Specialists use expertise and leadership gained through years of experience to deliver improvement within the manufacturing system and machine design. The duties vary widely between practicing safety leadership, troubleshooting, deliberate improvement projects, capital projects, equipment and process studies, audits, and on-site maintenance. A key component of a winder specialist's job is to utilize knowledge and skills to improve customer's on-site production capability and equipment reliability.
 
This position is a critical interface to the JSI customers. Working hand-in-hand with the account managers, he or she will support existing customers in their usage of JSI Winding technology. The paper mills supported will predominately be in the U.S., but with a possibility of very occasional needs arising in other papermaking parts of the world.
 
JSI is looking for a strong individual; however, there is the need to balance confidence with effective collaboration to maintain JSI culture and effectiveness.

The winder specialist position is accountable for delivering results on a wide range of assignments, short and long-term, across our global customer base. The winder specialist must work well with varied teams and be able to quickly engage customers from all levels of the organization from executive to the shop floor, demonstrate team leading skills, and ensure co-operation with other vendors and contractors on-site. Technical skills have generally been developed through manufacturing and commissioning exposure to winders.
