Ilim Group, St. Petersburg, Russia, is expanding its presence on the Russian corrugated packaging market. This month (May 2016), the company became the main owner of OOO Gofra Dmitrov, which boasts a Moscow Region production facility.

 

Ilim Group already owns Ilim Gofra in the Leningrad Region, and the acquisition of another asset doubles Ilim's corrugated packaging production capacity. The group now has a total annual capacity of 290 million square meters per year. The decision to expand the corrugated packaging business was taken in line with the company's broader development strategy.

Gofra Dmitrov is a modern production facility that produces the full cycle of corrugated packaging that is located in Dmitrov, in the Moscow Region, with more than 200 employees. It has a design capacity of 150 million square meters of product per year.

Ilim Gofra is a modern plant producing corrugated packaging, situated in Kommunar, in the Leningrad Region. It has more than 260 employees and a production capacity of 140 million square meters per year.

"We believe the Russian corrugated packaging production market is promising and profitable from an investment perspective," said Ilim Group’s CEO Franz Marx. "That is why we decided to become one of the owners of Gofra Dmitrov. By managing two modern corrugated packaging production facilities located right near the main markets for this product—Moscow and St. Petersburg—we will be able to offer our clients better logistics, an improved range, and higher quality of product, thus winning a unique market niche."
