"Rottneros (Rotternos, Sweden) has earlier this year announced a SEK 98 Million investment program at Rottneros Bruk. We are running a number of projects that will improve the energy efficiency and reduce the use of fossil fuels at our mill in Rottneros. For the increased production of high yield pulps, we need a new (20 MW) biomass boiler that has high availability, quick response to heat demand in our production process, and low emissions. We also set a high value for the cost efficiency for the plant. After a detailed evaluation of different options, we decided to choose Renewa (Finland) and their ReneFluid BFB-based boiler concept," said Olle Dahlin, managing director, Rottneros Bruk AB.
"Renewa has broad experience from working with industrial customers in Europe. We could see that the requirements of Rottneros Bruk on the boiler concept were quite familiar to us from our earlier projects, especially those related with availability, reliability, fuel flexibility, and low operational costs--and not to forget the environmental efficiency and ease of use for operators. We are very happy that Rottneros Bruk trusts in Renewa’s technology and expertise in this project," said Kari Liukko, sales director, Renewa Oy.TAPPI
