2017 Academic Scholarships Winners Selected
Each year, TAPPI prides itself on the ability to offer multiple scholarship opportunities to graduate and undergraduate students in the pulp, paper, packaging and related industries.
The William L. Cullison Scholarship Committee has selected David Lovato of North Carolina State University to receive a scholarship in the amount of $8,000 over the course of four semesters beginning this Fall.
The technical division scholarship announcements for the 2017 academic year are:
- The Coating and Graphic Arts Division has named Robert James Oglesby of North Carolina State University as the recipient of its $1,000 scholarship.
- The Corrugated Packaging Division has awarded three $1,000 scholarships to the following individuals: Heather Starkey of North Carolina State University received the division scholarship, Weley Vann of University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point received the Supplier Advisory Scholarship, and Trevor Gamache of North Carolina State University received the John O. Telesca Engineering Corrugated Scholarship.
- The Engineering Division has awarded two $2,000 scholarships to the following individuals: Robert James Oglesby of North Carolina State University and Marissa Voight of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
- The Paper and Board Division has awarded two $1,000 scholarships to the following individuals: Heather Starkey of North Carolina State University and Marissa Voight of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University
- The PLACE Division has named Hongchao Zhang of Washington State University – Pullman as the recipient of its $4,000 scholarship.
- The Process Control Division has named Marissa Voight of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University as the recipient of its $1,000 scholarship.
- The Process and Product Quality Division and the Process Control Division has awarded two $1,000 scholarships to the following individuals: Garrett Fisher of Western Michigan University and Trevor Gamacheof North Carolina State University.
TAPPI congratulates each scholarship recipient. For those students who were not selected this year, but who will still be attending a university or college in the Fall of 2017, we encourage applications for next year’s awards. The deadline to submit applications for academic year 2017-2018 is May 1, 2017.
