U.S. containerboard production in December 2016 was 7.2% higher than in December 2015, according to the AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA, December 2016 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report released this week. The month-over-month average daily production compared with November 2016 was 0.6% higher. 

The containerboard operating rate for December increased to 97%, while the year-to-date operating rate was 0.1% higher compared with year-to-date 2015.
