BPM Receives Safe Quality Food Certification
BPM Inc., a Peshtigo, Wis., USA- based specialty paper mill, this week announced that it has received the SQF (Safe Quality Food) Certification Level 2. The company noted that this is a significant achievement for BPM and places it among top companies that not only passed the rigorous desk and plant audits, but also registered an excellent score.
"The dedication of the team and employees is the key to reaching successful business goals," said Jim Koronkiewicz, GM of BPM. "With the hard work and commitment, the successful audit demonstrates our responsibility to exceed food safety and quality standards. The certification verifies our dedication and shows current and potential customers that they can count on us to deliver customer satisfaction, and provide paper products and flexible packaging for food manufactures and distributors."
The Safe Quality Food Program is the only standard recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), an industry-driven organization dedicated to the safety of the food supply chain by fostering sound food safety management system controls. Intertek, a Total Quality Assurance provider to the food industry, presented BPM with the internationally recognized SQF certification.
There are three levels of certification for the SQF standard and Level 2 is the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) food safety program benchmarked by GFSI to ensure companies worldwide are held to the same universal food safety standard. The scope of BPM’s registration, under the Level 2 SQF Certification, includes the manufacturing of processed meats and poultry.
BPM produces specialty papers, flexible packaging, and converted materials for the food service, meat, cheese, and confectionery industries. BPM provides full-service toll printing, converting, and in-house capabilities to add coating to flexible packaging products.
