Optimize Sheet Structure at WIST
TAPPI and the Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology (WIST) are working in partnership to bring you a
series of training courses for papermakers.
May 4-5, 2017 – University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Well known instructor, Dr. Gerry Ring, professor emeritus and former chair of the UW-Stevens Point Paper Science & Engineering Department, has prepared an in-depth focus on the optimization of sheet structure for this two-day course. You'll have the opportunity to run the fourdrinier pilot paper machine, as well as learn these concepts and more:
- Why papermaking fibers floc
- Manufacturing techniques that minimize fiber floccing
- The relationship between paper properties and formation
- Visual and instrumental measurement of formation
- The difficulties associated with the correlation of visual formation assessment and the instrument measurement.
Register here to take full advantage of the complete schedule of training opportunities. TAPPI members can take advantage of reduced rates for this event coming up soon.
