Prowell Expanding with Two New Corrugated Sheet Plants in Europe
Prowell, a company belonging to Progroup AG, Gemany, is pursuing its Two Twentyfive strategy "with determination," the company says, adding that it is continuing expansion at a fast pace with two new corrugated sheet board plants.
Europe‘s fastest growing corrugated board manufacturer is expanding its production capacity by an additional 250,000 metric tpy in the medium term. Beginning in 2018, it will have a production capacity totaling 1,380,000 metric tons of corrugated sheet boards per year. This further secures Progroup‘s market leadership in the Central European corrugated sheet board market.
While Prowell Plößberg (Germany) and Prowell Trzcinica (Poland) take their successful partnership to a new level with a new packaging plant in Drizzona, Italy, the most powerful corrugated board plant in the global industry is being built in the U.K., close to the existing site in Ellesmere Port.
According to Prowell, it will operate one machine with a capacity of 100,000 tpy of corrugated board sheets in Drizzona. The machine is said to be 2.8 meters wide and will run at a speed of 350 m/min. The company plans to produce single and double-wall sheets in the B, B NG, C, and E grades. Planned startup of the machine is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018. The project reportedly will create some 40 jobs in Drizzona.
In the U.K., Prowell is planning to create a "corrugated sheet mega plant" in Ellesmere Port near Liverpool. A total of EUR 75 million is being invested in the plant, which will produce up to 235,000 metric tpy of corrugated board sheets. The new machine, with a working width of 3.35 meters, will start up by the third quarter of 2018.
