Rebel Green Unveils Carbon Neutral, Tree Free Toilet Paper
Rebel Green, Mequon, Wis., USA, a natural, eco-friendly household cleaning products company, this week announced the launch of its tree free paper products line that will create zero net carbon emissions. The carbon neutral line includes toilet paper and paper towels made from bamboo.
To offset carbon generated from the bamboo product, Rebel Green has partnered with The
Paradigm Project, a social enterprise focused on combating poverty in East Africa, to fund clean cook stoves for women and families in rural Kenya. The use of clean cook stoves by these families will result in reductions in carbon emissions that will offset the carbon footprint of the Rebel Green bamboo paper products.
"It is extremely important for us to create a product that aligns with our brand promise to protect the environment and preserve the health and well-being of families," said Melina Marcus, co-founder, Rebel Green. "Our new tree free line will go beyond that promise by supporting safe household practices in the developing world and creating sustainable solutions so that families can complete everyday household tasks, like cooking, safely, and reliably."
The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves states that the basic act of cooking kills nearly 4.2 million people each year and that most victims are women and children. Inhaling smoke from cooking over an open fire can cause asthma, lung disease, pneumonia, and other life-threating conditions. Using a clean cook stove can reduce smoke, toxic emissions, and fuel consumption, making the cooking process substantially healthier and safer for families.
Not only is the new line helping families in the developing world, but the use of bamboo itself has environmental benefits as well. Bamboos are the fastest growing plants on the planet, with certain types of bamboo reaching their maximum height in as little as months. The bamboo Rebel Green uses is GMO free and is grown without pesticides. Bamboo is a popular product used to make everything from bedding to bath sheets and is super soft.
"By using bamboo instead of trees, we have created a product that puts the environment first, but still offers the quality and softness of traditional paper towels and toilet paper," said Ali Florsheim, co-founder, Rebel Green. "We are dedicated to providing consumers with convenient, innovative, and earth-friendly shopping choices that leave a positive impact on the planet."
The tree free products are the newest addition to Rebel Green's line of natural household cleaning products. The tree free line is available for purchase at RebelGreen.com and Luckyvitamin.com.
