The Forest Products Society (FPS), the global network for forest products professionals, is pleased to announce two new board members—Paige McKinley, VP and 2018 program chair, and Charles Gale, Northwest Regional Board representative. Their terms began June 28, 2017, upon completion of the 71st FPS International Convention (IC) in Starkville, Miss., USA.  

 

Paige McKinley (photo left) is an industrial engineer for Boise Cascade in Medford, Ore., USA. Charles Gale (photo right) is currently a consultant in forest research and the wood products industry. 

 

Also selected was the 2018 International Nominating Committee, consisting of the following FPS members:

• Joseph Dahlen, University of Georgia, Athens, Ga., USA
• Cornelis F De Hoop, Louisiana Forest Products Development Center, Baton Rouge, La., USA
• World Nieh, USDA Forest Service, Arlington, Va., USA
• Chen Zhangjing, Virginia Tech University, Blacksburg, Va., USA
• (In addition to two former BOD members).

As part of annual leadership transition, David B. DeVallance, West Virginia University, replaces Richard Vlosky, Louisiana State University AgCenter, as the Society’s president for the 2017-2018 term. Vlosky will remain on the board as past president for the forthcoming year. In addition, Hui Wan, Mississippi State University, is appointed president-elect. The complete 2017-2018 FPS Executive Board is:
