Neenah Launches Dispersa Dissolvable Paper
Neenah, Alpharetta, Ga., USA, has released Dispersa Dissolvable Paper, a water-soluble paper that dissolves completely and rapidly in water. The cellulose-based, non-toxic paper looks, feels, and tears just like ordinary paper.
Dispersa addresses key market needs dictated by an increased focus on environmental awareness, industrial and consumer safety, and convenience. It is 100% dispersible in water in seconds or minutes, depending on conditions, and suitable for flexographic, laser, and inkjet printing technologies.
Users can write, photocopy, emboss, and print on this stock via a variety of methods. Products (labels, tags, and packaging) made with this material will dissolve in any temperature of water, leaving no residue behind. Agitation (stirring, providing a forced flow of water) helps to break down the dissolvable fibers.
Dispersa Dissolvable Paper is suitable for adhesive and heat seal coatings for bag and pouch applications. The product is biodegradable, making it a sustainable choice for packaging applications.
Neenah has been a market leader in developing innovative paper solutions for decades. "Our customers have come to expect Neenah to lead with a continually expanding product offering. In Dispersa Dissolvable Paper, we have leveraged our R&D expertise and manufacturing capabilities, and worked closely with customers to deliver a product that performs beautifully," said Byron Racki, president, Neenah Performance Materials.
