2017 TAPPI Pacific Section Golf Tournament Results

Teaser: The annual Scramble for Scholarships Golf Tournament was held on Sept. 15 at Three Rivers Golf Course in Kelso, WA. The tournament is the Local Section’s primary fundraiser for scholarships to university students with a demonstrated interest in the Pulp and Paper Industry.

TAPPI held its 12th annual Scramble for Scholarships Golf Tournament Sept. 15 at Three Rivers Golf Course in Kelso, WA. This tournament is the primary fundraiser for PST which since 2006 has raised more than $78,000 for scholarships to university students with a demonstrated interest in the Pulp and Paper Industry.

The 2017 tournament continued this strong tradition of scholastic support by raising over $8,300. A Solenis team of Ross Zimmerman, Todd Chase, David Huff and John Sly (WestRock) took top honors with a score of -13. The 2nd place team was a mixed bag of hackers consisting of tournament host Brian Williquette, Murry McDowell, Ed Laulainen, and Dan Kohler at -11. In total, 72 suppliers and mill personnel attended the 2017 tournament.

Pacific Section TAPPI would like to thank Jacobs Engineering for again sponsoring this year’s dinner and Plasmine Technology for donation of the major door prize, a 50" TV, won by Mike Marsh (KapStone).
