Flora Tissues Awarded "Top SME in Asia'' at ACES 2017
Pee Bee Management Services Ltd., Sri Lanka, brand owner of Flora Tissues, this week announced that the company is a recipient of an award under the category "Top SME in Asia" at the Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability Awards (ACES) 2017 organized by Mors Group. The grand award ceremony was held in Singapore on Oct. 26, 2017, and the award was received by the company Managing Director Kishore Surtani.
Pee Bee Management Services was established with the primary objective of introducing an array of Soft Disposable Tissue Paper products to Sri Lanka. Flora Tissues—the flagship brand under the group's umbrella of products—which commenced business in the industrial zone in Ratmalana with just 10 employees and sales of its initial production restricted to limited distribution channels. The company soon expanded into other market segments, such as the hospitality sector, institutional channels, and the mass market. Today, the company has its own production plant, storage, and distribution facility spanning more than 50,000 sq. ft., in the Katuwana Industrial Zone in Homagama, with 250-plus employees.
The company's pioneering range of products under the "Flora Tissues" brand has become a mainstay, and currently account for a substantial 60% share of the local market. Growing acceptance for Flora Tissue products from both corporate and end user segments reflect the unique value attached to Flora Tissues, and highlights the steady shift away from traditional cloth based products to hygienic and convenient tissue paper alternatives.
Managing Director Kishore Surtani said that "the brand benefits from strong loyalty from consumers who consider Flora Tissues products to be unique, hygienic, and innovative. Flora Tissues has been awarded the SLS product certification for a majority of its products, and Surtani said that this was possible due to "the commitment by the organization to ensure total customer satisfaction." In line with this thinking, the company's mission statement focuses on selling value-for-money products with continuous improvement in quality, state-of-the-art technology, innovation, and teamwork and business professionalism. Elaborating further, he said that "we have a dedicated senior management team that follows the company vision and mission statements and quality policy, to ensure that the brand management function is carried effectively." The company is currently working on its four-year vision of doubling revenue and increasing brand value.
