Paper Industry Gives Back to the Community at PaperCon 2018
"If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one." - Mother Teresa
Hunger affects more than 815 million people worldwide. Understanding the full scope of hunger and malnutrition can be daunting, but we believe you can make a positive difference in the fight against hunger. This year at PaperCon, the paper industry is doing its part to give back to the community by offering a volunteer opportunity at
PaperCon’s 2018 Community Service Project on Sunday, April 15, 2018, in Charlotte, N.C., USA. During this charitable event, paper and packaging professionals will help package 10,000 meals for families in need. You are invited to be part of this life-saving event.
Even seemingly small contributions can add up to a BIG impact.
The PaperCon 2018 Community Service Project is brought to you by the
TAPPI Young Professionals Division. They will be partnering with
Rise Against Hunger, an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid worldwide. The event will help provide food for those who need it most as well as allow volunteers from across the paper, pulp, and packaging industries to connect with their peers.

Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030. Driving Rise Against Hunger’s work is the recognition that ending hunger is more than just feeding people, which led Rise Against Hunger to focus its feeding programs in areas where we can have a real impact and expand its hunger-fighting programs beyond meal packaging and distribution. Rise Against Hunger meal packaging volunteers produce millions of nutritious meals annually that are then distributed to partners in countries around the world.
