TAPPI’s
Young Professionals Division is seeking to fill two open positions on their
board – Director of Member Relations and Director of Division Relations. Both
are two-year terms, requiring monthly teleconference meetings and one in-person
meeting annually.
The Director
of Member Relations chairs the Member Engagement/Retention committee that works
to welcome new YP members and students to TAPPI, and coordinates with event and
division integration committees to develop outreach and engagements
opportunities.
The Director
of Division Relations leads the Division Integration committee, identifying
opportunities for YP and student member involvement within TAPPI’s divisions,
events, training, Standards/TIPs, and publications.
The YP
Division is also recruiting candidates to fill roles on several new committees.
There are positions available that fit with most interests and commitment
levels. Most terms are one or two years and include monthly teleconference
meetings.
Various Event Committees:
Responsibilities for event committees include developing
opportunities for YP division participation including session topics and networking
events.
Webinar Committee:
Responsible
for developing content for YP webinars, recruiting speakers, gathering feedback
from attendees, and identifying potential sponsors.
Division Integration Committee:
Responsible
for developing a "toolkit" to define and introduce YPs to TAPPI’s technical
divisions and committees.
Content Committee:
Responsible
for producing YP member spotlights and quarterly newsletters. Develop content
for YP website and TAPPI Connect, identify opportunities for contribution to
TAPPI articles and events (digital and print), create a subject matter expert
directory to identify YPs who can speak/contribute on various industry topics,
and create content distribution pathways.
Social Media Committee:
Responsible
for building and maintaining YP division communities within TAPPI Connect,
creating a social media calendar around YP events and news, work with Content
committee to develop posts for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
Member Engagement/Retention Committee:
Responsible
for working with TAPPI staff to develop ideas for increasing YP membership
retention and engagement and assist in research into YP and Student Member
needs.
