Change is in the air for TAPPI Journal (TJ).
Long-time TJ Editorial Board Member Peter Hart was named Editor-in-Chief with the publication’s January issue. Hart has served in numerous capacities on the Editorial Board over the course of twenty years, most recently as Associate Editor. He is director, Fiber Technology and Innovation for WestRock, and represents TAPPI’s pulp manufacturing and engineering divisions on the Editorial Board.
Hart is taking over for Brian Brogdon, who served as Editor-in-Chief for two years, and as Associate Editor the prior two. In addition, Douglas Coffin of Miami University, who joined the TJ Editorial Board in 2018 representing the corrugated division and paper physics community, started as Associate Editor in January 2020.
TJ recently underwent a publishing model change, too. The new TJ Hybrid-Open Access (OA) publishing model gives TAPPI members exclusive access to the latest year’s research for free, while nonmembers pay a fee for articles as before. The difference is that at the one-year anniversary of an article’s publication, nonmembers gain access to the research. The TJ digital archive, which goes back to 1992, is now open to nonmembers.
Prospective authors and speakers who present scientific papers at TAPPI conferences are encouraged to submit their research to TJ take full advantage of these exciting changes. In addition, your published papers qualify to win the $2,000 Honghi Tran TAPPI Journal Best Paper Prize presented at PaperCon. Submit your abstract today.
