As many of you know, the pulp and paper industry is vast and involves prominent and age-old organizations. The Paper Industry Technical Association (PITA), an independent and member-based UK organization that operates for the general benefit of its members (both individual and corporate), is celebrating their 100th year anniversary in 2020. PITA is dedicated to promoting and improving the technical and scientific knowledge of those working in the Fibrous Forest Products Industries (such as pulp, paper, wood panel, molded pulp and other similar industries).
The long-established line of Paper Industry organizations in the UK started in 1872 with the inauguration of The Paper Makers’ Association of England Wales, Scotland & Ireland (PMA) before becoming the Paper Industry Technical Association (PITA) in 1982.
PITA caters to the Industry (both manufacturers and suppliers) by hosting a forum for members to meet and network; it organizes conferences and training seminars that cover every aspects of papermaking science. It also publishes the reputable and internationally recognized journal, Paper Technology and the PITA Annual Review.
