Whether you are a triathlete or a self-professed couch potato, it’s time to put on your shoes and do the “Selfie Shuffle.” TAPPI’s 17th Annual Runnability Fun 5K Run/Walk is taking a different route this year. Participants will still run or walk to help students achieve a future career in the pulp and paper industry, but they will do it on their own schedule and in a location of their own choosing.
Attendee health and safety is TAPPI’s primary concern, so this year’s Runnability Fun Run/Walk will be held individually. Participants can run or walk between May 4-18, 2021 and send TAPPI their results using a “selfie” commemorating the moment. The selfies will then be posted to the TAPPICon website. All proceeds go to support TAPPI’s Scholarship Fund for the Engineering, Process Control, Process and Product Quality, Paper and Board, and Coating and Graphic Arts Divisions.
Why not take advantage of this exclusive opportunity to help others and have fun at the same time? There will be no Runnability Fun Run/Walk in the fall.
TAPPICon
This year, professionals have the unique opportunity to learn from experts and engage in in-depth conversations both virtually and in-person during TAPPICon 2021 – a two-part technical conference focused on six industry segments: paper, tissue, nonwovens, recycling, maintenance and reliability, and women in industry.
TAPPICon VIRTUAL, May 4-5, 2021, features four hours of curated content each day. The virtual format allows participants to stay abreast of critical issues and find potential solutions to their unique problems, safely and conveniently from their home, office or mill.
TAPPICon LIVE!, October 3-6, 2021 in Atlanta, GA, offers a face-to-face event including a comprehensive technical conference, an expanded exhibit hall, new technology showcase, courses, and an awards ceremony recognizing Industry leaders. The event also offers multiple networking opportunities for attendees to reconnect with their peers and build new business contacts.
Both programs feature topic-specific tracks including coating and graphic arts, maintenance and reliability, management, nonwovens, papermaking, papermaking additives, papermaking fundamentals, process control, recycled paperboard (virtual only), tissue and young professionals.
