To provide a framework for the characterization of the morphology of cellulose nanofibrils (CNF), this 2-day workshop focused on particle size measurement provides detail on the capabilities of various techniques that are used to measure CNF particle size. Measurement challenges for two distinct CNF types, individual and “entangled” CNFs, will be compared and contrasted, while the effectiveness of given measurement techniques and their feasibility in industry vs. research will be deliberated.
