Over the last four decades, there has been growing interest in renewable energy-based approaches to help strengthen rural economies, increase energy security, and decrease the negative environmental impacts associated with combusting fossil fuels and other production processes. In addition, there has been a steady increase in consumer demand for sustainable and renewable products.
With this current climate, the need for bioenergy and bioproducts solutions has never been greater, and leaders are turning toward industry experts for the latest advancements and technologies to help meet this growing need.
IBBC 2022
A key resource is TAPPI’s International Bioenergy and Bioproducts Conference (IBBC), October 30 – November 2, 2022 in Providence, Rhode Island. Focused on new technologies using renewable materials from biomass to produce chemicals, polymers and fuels to support the growing bioeconomy through sustainable biorefinery, IBBC is the perfect platform for sharing knowledge and expertise. Currently, IBBC organizers are seeking subject matter experts to speak at the Conference and invite them to submit an abstract by March 14, 2022 to TAPPI's Speaker Management System. PEERS 2022
IBBC 2022 will be co-located with TAPPI’s Pulping, Engineering, Environmental, Recycling and Sustainability (PEERS) Conference. Known for its technical content, PEERS offers a comprehensive program which emphasizes new methods and best practices to help mills optimize operations and reach sustainability goals. The Conference provides an excellent forum to learn from industry experts in a presentation setting, as well as engage in peer-to-peer discussions during panel sessions, committee meetings and roundtables.
PEERS 2022 organizers are currently seeking manuscripts that provide reports or case studies on new advances in technology, process improvements, and fundamental process knowledge. Industry professionals interested in speaking should submit an abstract by March 14, 2022 to TAPPI's Speaker Management System. Suggested topics include pulping, brown stock washing, recovery boilers & evaporators, lime kiln & recausticizing, bleaching, mill reliability, recycling, energy & power boilers, nonwood fibers, environment, regulations, and sustainability.

Student Poster Session and Competition
IBBC and PEERS also offer a Student Poster Session and Competition designed especially for students and young professionals, giving them the opportunity to get industry input on their projects as well as gain exposure for their research. One Registration. Two Events.
Mills and other industry professionals can attend the technical programs of both peer-reviewed events for only one registration fee. They also have the opportunity to participate in multiple networking events and are invited to visit the exhibit floor where they can speak face-to-face with suppliers about new technologies and potential solutions to their unique problems.
