National Forest Products Week Spotlights Sustainability Leadership

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) President and CEO Heidi Brock issued the following statement in celebration of the 62nd anniversary of National Forest Products Week (October 16-22).
“During National Forest Products Week, we celebrate the 950,000 people across America who make a difference for our industry, local communities and the planet. Join us as we celebrate all who contribute toward making sustainable products, for a sustainable future.

“From paper towels to cardboard boxes, communication papers that facilitate reading and writing, or wood products found throughout homes – it’s hard to imagine a day without sustainable forest products.
“This is a meaningful place to work. We are a U.S. manufacturing industry grounded in innovation and advancing the circular economy.
Paper is one of the most widely recycled materials in the nation. We are also one of the first manufacturing industries to set and achieve quantifiable sustainability goals.

“Our commitment to do more continues with Better Practices, Better Planet 2030. The success of our sustainability initiative is rooted in diverse and talented people. We are committed to positively impacting diversity, equity and inclusion while also advancing the essential role the industry has in local, regional and national economies.”
