Jennifer Piercy, a TAPPI Member, has been chosen as North Carolina State University’s new assistant dean for college advancement and president of the NC State Natural Resources Foundation. She has a long and successful history within the College of Natural Resources.
Jennifer previously served as executive director of the Pulp and Paper Advisory Committee and director of undergraduate student recruiting, retention and development in the Department of Forest Biomaterials at NC State.
She has 10 years of board management, fundraising, alumni relations, communications, leadership and management under her belt. Jennifer was instrumental in closing several major gifts to the college during the Think and Do the Extraordinary campaign, helping the Advancement team exceed its $35 million fundraising goal.
Throughout her time in the Department of Forest Biomaterials, Jennifer doubled the size of the Pulp and Paper Advisory Committee and its committees, developed key industry partnerships resulting in an 85% increase in corporate giving, doubled annual giving and alumni participation and managed the scholarship program for paper science and engineering students.
After graduating from NC State with degrees in pulp and paper technology and chemical engineering, Jennifer joined Procter & Gamble as a process engineer, machine manager and operations manager. She also worked for the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in the MBA Career Services Center.
