Along with a wide-ranging, varied portfolio, Item Products, Europe's largest designer and producer of reusable and recyclable components for the packaging and point-of-sale industry, will be showcasing Box Latch™ products’ Clip & Stack device, on stand H12 at Packaging Innovations, NEC Birmingham on 15 & 16 February 2023.
Clip & Stack delivers supply chain efficiencies and saves costs. A simple and innovative plastic device, Clip & Stack is used on two corners of corrugated boxes to hold box flaps open and down while filling, emptying or transporting contents - useful in preventing box flaps from fouling conveyors and interrupting operations. Working with single, double, and triple wall board, the use of the device converts a carton into a tote, making it stackable, easier to fill and removes the use of elastic bands to keep boxes open. Clip & Stack is ideal for warehouses, fulfilment, co-packers and pick and pack operations, enabling a much safer activity, while also keeping boxes damage free.
As a reusable product, Clip & Stack can be used hundreds or thousands of times and is available in either ‘heavy duty’ in orange or ‘standard’ in black or green. The product is manufactured and distributed in the UK & Europe by Item, who can also produce the device without a lip on the product, which is ideal for customers who just want to ‘clip’ the sides of a box down, but not necessarily ‘stack’.
Incorporating strong environmental messages is a core theme on their stand, where Item will be promoting the phrase ‘reuse before recycle’ for all components in their product portfolio. This means that all of their products can be reused time and time again before being recycled. Nearly all of Item’s product range can be made from recycled content material, rendering them exempt from the plastic packaging tax, whilst retaining the ability to recycle in the domestic waste system.
Other products from Item on display will include interlock locking clips, designed to clip together multiple sections of corrugated board in a heavy-duty transit pack, standard and heavy-duty carrying handles, display hooks, euro studs and rivets for point of sale, as well as wheels and stabilisers to provide packaging mobility.
Julian Cook, Item’s managing director, said: “We very much look forward to exhibiting at Packaging Innovations and showcasing our very latest products, particularly the Clip & Stack device. We have a well-established reputation in the marketplace for developing environmentally efficient finishing solutions, accessories and components, and I’m sure that we can look forward to a busy and productive show.”
