Global technology company Voith is proud to announce its recognition as a finalist in the 2023 Manufacturing Leadership Awards for outstanding achievement in the category of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The project submission entitled, “Ensuring High Quality Through Analytics – An AI-Based Predictive Quality Solution for a Yarn Manufacturing Line,” was focused on a predictive quality solution for Voith’s manufacturing lines that produce monofilament yarn for paper machine clothing fabric at the company’s Summerville, S.C. facility. The project goal was to automate the entire quality inspection process and develop products that meet quality requirements while reducing labor costs, inspection time, and achieve better process control. To achieve the goals of this project, the Voith team used PDX, a machine learning and AI-driven, end-to-end software platform from Predictronics. Using machine learning-based analytics, Voith secured real-time, predictive quality information to achieve better productivity.
“This project is a great example of Voith’s commitment to utilizing state-of-the-art, digital technologies to increase production efficiency,” said Brian Good, Sr. Manager Operations, Voith Paper in Summerville, S.C. “We’re honored to be named a finalist for the 2023 Manufacturing Leadership Awards.”
Voith will be recognized along with all other award finalists at the Manufacturing Leadership Awards Gala, which will take place on June 28, 2023, at the JW Marriott in Marco Island, Florida. Winners in all project and individual categories will be announced at that time, along with the Manufacturers of the Year and Manufacturing Leader of the Year.
