On April 28, 2024, TAPPI will hold its 16th Advanced Coating Symposium (ACS) in Cleveland, Ohio. Known as the preeminent forum bringing together noted paper coating experts to discuss leading-edge research, the Symposium focuses on key topics including barriers, surface properties, converting, and sustainability. All presentations undergo rigorous peer review before being accepted into the program.
Beginning at 8:00 am, the technical program kicks off with its first session focusing on Unique Coating Considerations, followed at 10:00am by a two-hour session with presentations on Barrier Coating Concepts. Following a break for lunch, the Symposium picks back up with two more hours concentrating on barrier coating considerations before ending at 4:00 with Closing Remarks and an invitation to present the Hagemeyer Happy Hour.
ACS Technical Chair Preeti Tyagi, Ph.D., notes, “We are so pleased to be presenting this anticipated Symposium after an extended Covid-related hiatus. While we are still working out exact program details, the Committee is very excited about the depth and breadth of this year’s program. Coating professionals can expect to walk away with new ideas and fresh ways to tackle every day issues.”
ACS will be held prior to TAPPICon 2024, also in Cleveland, Ohio. A perfect complement to the knowledge gained at ACS, TAPPICon focuses on key industry areas including Coating; Printing and Surface Enhancement; Papermaking Additives; Papermaking Fundamentals; Papermaking Technology & Operations; Tissue; Management (PIMA); Process Control; and Recycled Paperboard (RPTA).
