In Memoriam: Clarence Allen "Kasy" King

Clarence Allen “Kasy” King, 76, passed away in May at his home in Biloxi, MS. King graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Chemistry, MS in Surface Chemistry, 1971 and PhD in Paper Science from the Institute of Paper Chemistry.  His first position was at James River as manager of technology, followed by manager - pulp and paper technology at Appleton Papers. After retirement in 2000 he developed Papermaking Process Consulting. A long-time member of PIMA and TAPPI, King served on committees, presented at many conferences, and was an Editorial Board member for TAPPI Journal and Solutions! magazine. He was also an instructor for short courses and seminars and co-authored Cost Saving Strategies in Papermaking Chemistry with Martin A Hubbe. He was a TAPPI Fellow and a proud "Hokie" fan and Green Bay Packer fan. In lieu of flowers, donations be made in King’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
