Valmet Announces Thomas Hinnerskov to Start as President and CEO

Valmet announced that Thomas Hinnerskov will take over as President and CEO on August 12. He succeeds Pasi Laine, who will continue as the President and CEO of Valmet until August 11.
 
Hinnerskov is a Danish citizen and was born in 1971. He joins Valmet from Mediq B.V. where he has been working as CEO since 2022. Prior to his current position, Hinnerskov was the Executive Vice President at Kone, responsible for South Europe, Middle East and Africa between 2021-2022 and Executive Vice President for Central Europe between 2016-2021.
 
Earlier in his career, Hinnerskov held several leadership positions in ISS A/S between 2003-2016, and before that worked in versatile management positions in a private equity fund, in consulting and in investment banking sector. He has a Master's degree in Economics (Finance and Accounting) from Copenhagen Business School.
 
Laine has served as President and CEO of Valmet since January 2014 upon the completion of the demerger plan to separate Metso's Pulp, Paper and Power business into a separate listed company, Valmet Corporation. Prior to that, Laine served as President of Metso's Pulp, Paper and Power business and became a member of the Metso Executive Team in 2006.
