The Chicago TAPPI Local Section is hosting Fall Workshops for corrugators and converters on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Oak Brook Marriott in Oak Brook, IL. The two workshops will take place from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and will be followed by a tabletop exhibit and reception from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm.
In the Converter Workshop’s All About Print session, attendees will learn about topics like ink control, the importance of plate structure and care, as well as the importance of Anilox and care in the printing process. This will be followed by a Die Cut session, where participants will gain perspective on cutting die mounting, repairs/rubbering, the tools needed on the press side, on/off machine care, anvil blankets, the Importance of rotation, and machine oscillation.
Held simultaneously, the Corrugator Workshop will feature a Corrugator Process Review session where attendees will learn about a hands-on assessment and pre-flight processes for the corrugator. This will be followed by the Splicers, Starch and Bonding session, featuring presentations on splicer operation and troubleshooting, starch chemistry, and analyzing bond issues.
Registration is $25 for box plant employees to attend either of the workshops and the reception. Managers are invited to take advantage of the Box Plant Manager ticket, which includes five individual tickets to a workshop and the reception for $100. Industry suppliers are invited to attend either workshop for $75. Individuals who attend both a workshop and the reception will be entered to win the TVs used during the workshop presentations.
Exhibitor registration is $100. Tabletop exhibits and sponsorship opportunities are also available through the registration portal.
