UPM Fibres Initiates Change Negotiations in Finland, May Lead to Reduction of 110 Positions

UPM Fibres announced "planned measures" that include the possible reduction of 110 positions in the UPM Pulp operations in Finland, UPM Forest and UPM Timber.

Change negotiations have started in UPM's Fibres Finland Operations that cover approximately 1,600 employees.

UPM said the change negotiations will also include possible temporary layoffs in the UPM Pulp operations in Finland and in UPM Timber.

UPM said these measures will increase efficiency and safeguard the profitability of its operations in Finland.

In a written statement, UPM said, "The possible temporary layoffs could take place according to the market situation, if and as needed, between 1 January 2025 and 30 June 2025. Any temporary layoffs could be implemented in stages and could last in total a maximum of 90 days."
