Jani Sales Enhances Tissue Production Capacity with New PM 2 Machine in Q3/2024

India’s Jani Sales has significantly expanded its tissue production capacity at the Sarigam mill, located in Valsad, Gujarat. This expansion increases the facility’s overall capacity to 57,000 metric tons per year, thanks to the introduction of a new virgin fiber-based tissue production line.

The additional lightweight machine, PM 2, has commenced operations, adding an impressive 21,000 metric tons per year to the mill’s output.

PM 2 is designed to produce a wide range of 100% pulp-based tissue products, including facial tissues, paper napkins, toilet paper, and kitchen towels. These products will vary in weight from 11.5 g/m² to 42 g/m² and will cater to both domestic and international markets.

The PM 2 machine is supplied by Baosuo, a renowned tissue machine manufacturer based in Guangdong, China. This new line complements Jani Sales’ existing PM 1 machine. PM 1 currently produces machine-glazed (MG) kraft, poster paper, and tissue products.

Originally a paper trading company, Jani Sales diversified its operations by establishing a paper manufacturing plant in September 2020. The facility initially focused on producing 100 metric tons of kraft paper per day. As of March 2024, the Sarigam mill has a production capacity of 28,000 metric tons per year of packaging kraft paper and 8,000 metric tons per year of soft crepe tissue, bringing the total mill capacity to 36,000 metric tons per year.

With the addition of PM 2, Jani Sales is poised to strengthen its position in the tissue paper market, ensuring a reliable supply of high-quality products to meet growing demand both domestically and globally.
