V.I.T. Papertec, Gerlingen, Germany, reports that its hard coatings for precision metering rods are "yielding enormous results." The specific carbide–based hard coating, the PLATIN-coating for example, is one of the hardest known wear-resistant surfaces and provides the highest degrees of tensile strength and hardness, the company notes.

International Paper Co., Memphis, Tenn., USA, has elected Ray G. Young to its board of directors, effective October 1. Young, 52, has been SVP and CFO of Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) since 2010.

Rayonier Advanced Materials, Jacksonville, Fla., USA, reports that after more than 36 years with the company, Jack Kriesel, SVP, Advanced Materials, plans to retire, effective December 31. Kriesel, who has held his position since 2009, served in various leadership roles within the company over a course of more than three decades.
