Market Roundup
P&W paper shipments decreased 8% in November 2014 compared with November 2013, with total paper inventories increasing 5% compared with October 2014.

Industry consumption volumes declined with a compound annual rate of change (CARC) of -2.5% between 2009 and 2013, to reach a total of 32.5 million cubic meters in 2013.

U.S. boxboard production in November 2014 increased 0.9% compared with November 2013 and increased 2.1% from October 2014.

Production by U.S. mills was 4.8% lower in November 2014 than in October 2014, 5.9% higher than November of 2013, and 1.4% higher year-to-date.

Shipments by U.S mills totaled 115,500 tons in November 2014, 7.7% lower than in October 2014.

Pulp & Paper
PM 7 is designed for a paper width of 2,700 mm and in the future will produce toilet paper and paper towels from 100% virgin pulp at a working speed of 2,100 m/min.

New Toscotec AHEAD tissue machine, designed for production of high quality tissue products, will replace the Syassky mill’s existing PM 3 after its dismantling and will come on-stream in the first half of 2016.

Pending successful completion of the ongoing lease negotiation, construction of the South Hadley facility is scheduled to begin early this month, and the facility is expected to be fully functional by the end of April.
